While we all look forward to the days when our communications with colleagues will consist of a "Hangout" within Google+, for now, having reliable conference calling and web conferencing is still a must. There are a number of free players in the space (see Catchfree ), but I have used these two enough to recommend them with confidence.
1) For conference calling, take a look at FreeConferenceCall.com. It takes just a couple of minutes to set up, has international numbers if you need them, and works like a champ. We've been using it for 3 years.

2) For Desktop Sharing, try Join.me. It loads up faster than it's heavier brethren (for you and your guests, much less drag on your machine), and is dead simple to use. You will find there are a few features missing (ability to transfer control of the desktop, ability to draw on the screen, etc.), but for the ease, the dependability, the price (free), and the speed, I find myself using Join.me most of the time even though I have paid licenses to the heavier providers.

What are some of the conference call and web conferencing products that you have used? Which products, in your eyes, are worth paying for?
