”Mavenlink helps us aggregate our project communication, tasks, and deliverables all in one place. Having a centralized place for this data is incredibly valuable to us.” - Aaron Hecker, Lead Help Desk Specialist of Minneapolis College of Art and Design
Q: Sean Crafts (Mavenlink Co-Founder) - Can you tell us a little about your business?
A: Aaron Hecker - Minneapolis College of Art and Design is a private, non-profit college with 750 students. Our curriculum relies very heavily on technology. As a result, we manage dozens of IT projects throughout the school year and many more during summer months.
Q: Sean - How did you find Mavenlink?
A: Aaron - We were looking for any type of project management software. We discovered Mavenlink because we wanted to leverage our Google Apps for Education infrastructure to minimize development, implementation, and support time making a project management package work.
Q: Sean - How has Mavenlink helped your business?
A: Aaron - Mavenlink helps us aggregate our project communication, tasks and deliverables all in one place. Having a centralized place for this data is incredibly valuable to us. Mavenlink puts a nice skin on this information storehouse and it is easy to work with.
Q: Sean - What do your clients, consultants, and fellow co-workers say about Mavenlink?
A: Aaron - Many of my colleagues like the software, but some feel it is too communication-focused and that the meat of the project (task management) is too small given its importance. [Sean: Luckily, updates to the Project Tracker are underway and will be rolled out this summer.]
Q: Sean - Please explain the Results of using Mavenlink and Google Apps.
A: Aaron - We utilize the Google Apps Integration with Google Docs, Calendar, Gmail, Groups, and a few other Apps in our day to day. Having Mavenlink integrated with Calendar has been incredibly helpful for us. We will often times provide a link to Google Docs within our projects and sometimes utilize the project space email for communication tracking.
Q: Sean - Anything else you want to tell us?
A: Aaron - I'm happy with the software. After using it for a few months, I have some feature requests which would substantially improve the ease of use in our environment. I will be submitting these shortly. [Sean: Glad to hear. We love getting user feedback. Just submit all requests to our Help Center where our Product & Engineering Team aggregate all requests.]
