”Mavenlink allows us to easily organize the lessons and communication that takes place here on campus at the Dallas School of Music, as well as those educational correspondences that occur online.” - Eugene Cantera, Director of Social Media at the Dallas School of Music

Q: Sean Crafts (Mavenlink Co-Founder) - Can you tell us a little about your business?

A: Eugene Cantera - We teach music on location at The Dallas School of Music (DSM) and have members who access our program online from all over the world. We go by the motto: “Discover, Learn, and Play!

Q: Sean - How did you find Mavenlink?

A: Eugene - We recently decided to move all operations to 'the cloud' and found Mavenlink looking for online project management via Google Apps Marketplace.

Q: Sean - What pain points has Mavenlink solved for your business?

A: Eugene - Mavenlink allows us to easily organize the lessons and communication that takes place here on campus at DSM as well as those educational correspondences that occur online. It allows our students and users to interact with appropriate faculty members and keeps all notes efficiently organized in one spot online.

Q: Sean - What do your clients, consultants, and fellow co-workers say about Mavenlink?

A: Eugene - Our staff is enjoying Mavenlink and we feel like we are just scratching the surface of its potential. Our clients (Dallas School of Music students and their families) enjoy having access to our staff between sessions and those using our online program perceive it as an incredible 'added value' that personalizes the music learning process.

Q: Sean - Please explain the Results of using Mavenlink and Google Apps.

A: Eugene - In Mavenlink, we create what we call music 'workspaces' for each student (both on campus and online). The 'tasks' we assign include educational information that is automatically emailed to students after each lesson. We've also created Achievement Certificates and use 'Milestones' in the Project Tracker to commend students who complete various levels of performance. We use Google Calendar for all lessons scheduled on campus and TimeToNote keeps track of our clients and business contacts, meetings and scheduled calls etc.

Q: Sean - Anything else you want to tell us or features you’d like to see?

A: Eugene - We're pretty sure you guys did not intend Mavenlink to be used in an educational setting, let alone in music! But we're not your average (music) educators. Here is a link to an article titled Create the "Check" Box that's about our early years and how we never really 'fit in' to a traditional teaching format. Here is a more recent blog about who we are and what we're trying to do (this one mentions Mavenlink!).
