”As I said it before, and I will say it again, I love Mavenlink something akin to my business wife. Mavenlink is supportive, consistent, and reminds me to do my chores.” - Steve Moore, CEO of Ascension Advertising
Q: Sean Crafts (Mavenlink Co-Founder) - Can you tell us a little about your business?
A: Steve Moore - Ascension Advertising is a company that was started out of one man's failed attempt to do internet marketing on his own. Our first client hired the owner of our company out of a desperate need to stop hemorrhaging money on con-artists and bogus products. We turned this client's marketing around and within one year, added $350,000 in Sales. Needless to say, our owner got a few job offers. He ended up starting a company and serving the whole crowd. Now the Ascension brand has two companies under it's belt, one is Ascension Advertising, the other, Ascension Networking. If your marketing stops working, you need to Ascend!
Q: Sean - How did you find Mavenlink?
A: Steve - After going through one failed project manager, two pieces of project management software, and a lot of headaches, we tried out Mavenlink on the Google Apps Marketplace. I wish we would have tried it before Insightly and Manymoon, but alas, we did not and probably lost money because of it.
Q: Sean - What pain points has Mavenlink solved for your business?
A: Steve - The biggest pain Mavenlink helped me cure is the fear of letting smaller projects fall through the cracks. The ever nagging fear that a minor task (small piece of code, forgetting to re-order toilet paper, not editing an article before submission) did not get done properly only to come back to haunt you in the future.
The other headache that Mavenlink ended up curing was accountability. In some companies, people try to blame others for failure. The delegation was never written down, so the most convinced person would typically win the debate over whose fault it was. You can never discipline a company without some kind of tack-ability of tasks, and Mavenlink did just that. I wish it happened sooner, because when you own the company, everything is your fault (even if it’s not).
Q: Sean - What do your clients, consultants, and fellow co-workers say about Mavenlink?
A: Steve - Clients: Good to know we can yell at you if you are not going fast enough.
Consultants: I'm glad I don't have to hunt you down for my assignments.
Co-workers: I'm happy I don't have to use spreadsheets for everything anymore.
Q: Sean - Please explain the results of using Mavenlink and Google Apps.
A: Steve - Mavenlink and Google Apps are definitely a match made in heaven. The Single Sign On feature makes logging in fool proof to my employees. The integration of Google Calendar allows my people the ability to centralize and simplify their workflows and life management. Definitely a good sync.
Q: Sean - Anything else you want to tell add?
A: Steve - As I said it before, and I will say it again, I love Mavenlink something akin to my business wife. Mavenlink is supportive, consistent, reminds me to do my chores, keeps adding new services, and keeps me organized. The one thing Mavenlink does not do that my wife does is nag me when I forget to do something.
