Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Controller, who will be an integral part of the finance and accounting team and report to the CFO. The Corporate Controller oversees general accounting and reporting, external and internal audit coordination, payroll, accounts payable, expense report audit, balance sheet management, tax and treasury matters. The Corporate Controller is responsible for all accounting policies & procedures, financial statements and footnotes, reporting and controls. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this highly skilled individual leads the Controllership organization and partners cross-functionally with leadership to ensure priorities are aligned with corporate objectives and appropriate financial controls. 

The ideal candidate will ensure the application of sound accounting practices and initiate process improvements, demonstrate proficiency in areas related to the technical accounting interpretation and financial reporting and communicate clearly with all levels of the organization. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with developing proper written accounting controls and processes, and that they are implemented and adhered to within the accounting processes, adhering to compliance with US GAAP.

  • Ensure accuracy/appropriateness of activity recorded in the general ledger via timely preparation and review of monthly reconciliations and analyses related to balance sheet accounts. 

  • Periodic review of standard accruals to determine if adjustment is necessary based on trended activity.

  • Manage month-end closing process with the focus on a best-in-class accounting close while assisting Finance with flux analysis explanations. 

  • Manage Treasury function with all banks and accounts to ensure proper funding based on current needs. 

  • Oversee Accounts Receivable recording and processing.

  • Review of Accounts Payable voucher packages for proper approval and coding. 

  • Oversee US and international payroll function, including review, authorization and administration of all payroll systems. 

  • Identify areas for process improvements and efficiencies and communicate these opportunities to senior management. 

  • Review non-routine transactions, determine accounting treatment, and develop necessary policies and procedures. 

  • Responsible for all matters related to state, federal and international corporate income tax filings and reporting.

  • Provide leadership, training and development to the team and our financial infrastructure to keep up with the demands of the business. 

  • Coordinate and manage internal and external financial and banking audits with related parties. 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. 

  • Willingness to adapt to changes to the role as the department and business needs shift. 

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field. CPA a plus.

    • Blend of public account experience (ideally Big 4 background) and private industry experience preferred. 

    • Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles.
  • Experience:
    • 10 plus years of work experience in Accounting.

    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

    • Strong business partnering and interpersonal skills.

    • Organized, flexible and easily adaptable to changing conditions.

    • Ability to work well in high pressure situations in order to meet deadlines.

    • High degree of proficiency with NetSuite, Excel, and Google Suite.

    • Strong project management skills.

    • Ability to mult-task and manage numerous simultaneous priorities. 

    • High energy, independent thinker, high ownership of work product and dedication and commitment to driving results.
